Anniversary

The 22nd was our first anniversary and it was a great day. Even the weather cooperated and we had a rare day with clear blue skies and no rain at all! In true Dutch fashion, Brent got me some beautiful orange tulips and a really nice vase to put them in. I got him a stuffed animal cat to try and placate the fact that he doesn't have his cat here with him. We took advantage of the wonderful weather and spent the better part of the day walking around. We went to the Leiden "Castle" - an old lookout post on a man-made hill. It offers fantastic views of the city. We had a bit of lunch, walked around a bit more, came back to the apartment and attempted to do some homework but ended up just relaxing and then went to dinner at the oldest pancake house in Holland. Gotta love the pancakes! It was a great day and to add a bit of mushy-ness it has been the best year of my life. I love Brent so much and have the best friend in the world!

Nederlanders

As of the 13th, Brent and I are the newest residents of the Netherlands (aka Holland). We are here for a year studying to get our MBA's at Webster University in Leiden. Leiden is a great small-ish University town about a half hour away from Amsterdam. We spent a few months in Leiden last year as part of our International Relations degree studies and loved it. After a few months back in the US unsuccessfully looking for jobs we decided to return to school to get a useful degree and so we packed up the bags and flew across the seas yet again.
